| Distillation | A blend of oakwood matured malts and selected Indian grains. Solan craft their unique single malt using copper pot stills, finest malted barley, Himalayan spring water and then finally matured in virgin American Oak Wood Casks. |
| Aroma & Tasting Notes | Every sip promises a rich, full mellowness of a single malt. Fruity, a bit of cinnamon spice and a bit of vanilla mixed in the background. As the flavor develops there’s a bit of nutmeg that starts to kick in, and a small touch of licorice in the background that’s just peeking out of the corner and trying to get noticed. The overall effect is, quite frankly, novel and delicious. |

Solan Black, Rare & Premium Spirit Whisky is produced by Mohan Meakin Limited at the Kasauli Distillery which is found in the Himalayan Highlands at an elevation of over 6,000feet. (The town of Kasauli in located in the Solan District, Himachal Pradesh, India.)
The distillery was founded in the late 1820s by Edward Dyer who apparently chose this location because the climate in this area of India was quite similar to his native Scotland.
